Strange noise under the good?
1977 Pontiac ventura, 231 Buick engine, Rochester 2 barrel.
When I press on the peddle with any kind of a heavy foot I get a slurping sort of sound under the hood. Like when you get to the bottom of a drink with a straw. It's a random popped and cracking sound. Only hear it when I accelerate, and if I push the pedal to the floor the noise goes away. It's only when accelerating though. If I'm in park and step on the gas everything sounds great. Any ideas? I heard it could be a carb gasket leak but I replaced that with no luck. I'm at a loss please help! :/
