Hi Guys, I have no real experience in TC installation so I’m looking for suggestions as to the best way to go for a 454 installation. I have a TH400 with a stock torque converter that came from a ‘56 Chevy half ton with a 307 engine & quadra-jet carb. My question: is it best to stick with the stock TC that came with the TH400 or can I go with the newer TC? (Wasn’t able to identify this TC from earlier posts). The TC does seat properly into the TH400 (with correct measurements of 1- 3/16”) and it bolts to the flex plate nicely and it moves freely after the bell house is bolted to the block. Hope this question makes sense. Thx

That doesn’t look like any stock converter I’ve ever seen. I would recommend sending to someone to cut open and inspect. I would guess the stall speed on that converter is higher than stock.
