Anyone running a rack and pinion setup with the stock subframe on a 68 to 72 ? I'm leaning towards buying one if its a good setup.

Thanks,

I do not have one --- stock manual steering here with my 69 .

Look at this Post : using stock Nova sub-frame ... with some pictures

Then look here -- they make a R & P kit for 3rd gens :

you asked .....

Yea , me too , lol. This looks like a really nice kit. I want a TCI front end , but this would be a great alternative. Thanks Twin for the help.

stock frontend rack install

I did the Steeriods rack & pinion kit on my 72 BBC nova. It went in pretty quick. I like the way it feels compared to the stock steering setup. About the only thing I didn't like was the price and the turning radius isn't as good as I like. Other then that I'm pleased with the overall kit.

I looked at this kit and really like it because you don't have to cut anything. Were you able to use your stock column? Headers or oil pan problems? Any upgrades needed at spindles ?

Thanks,
