I AM BUILDING A STOCK CHEVY SMALL BLOCK 307 -WHAT CAM DO I USE ?

HYPER. FLAT TOP PISTONS

STOCK 75CC HEADS

2.73 OR 3.08 GEAR IN A 1974 NOVA

PERFORMER EPS INTAKE

600 CFM HOLLEY DOUBLE PUMPER

2500 STALL W/TH350 TRANS

**I AM LOOKING FOR A VERY CHOPPY IDLE**

**I WAS THINKING ABOUT USING A Lunati 60102 Camshaft, Hydraulic Flat Tappet, Advertised Duration 262/268, Lift .468/.489**

WOULD THIS BE A GOOD CHOICE FOR THIS SMALL DISPLACEMANT ENGINE?

THANKS FOR THE HELP!

Buy a set of 1.84 305 heads and port the crap out of them These will up your compression a good amount and if you port those heads good you will have exellent flow.

I am doing a build on a 307 right now but mine is solely performance and so i used a smaller cam that has a noticeable but not so choppy idol.

However. If you have the extra $$ laying around purchase a set of aftermarket heads

these would be good for your build

Didn't we just go through this on another thread?

If you understand what causes the very choppy idle and what needs to be done to compensate, you might rethink your plan. All you are going to have is a very poor running engine and with stock gears, low compression, crappy heads and no displacement it will be an embarrassment to drive. You won't impress anyone. If you still want to do this fiasco then the cam you think want is in this thread.
