I think my steering box was ruined when I crashed so what does everyone use for a manual steering box? Do the Vega style box bolt right up? Also what front end parts does everyone use where do you get them (ie tie rods, center link, ball joints etc)?

Thanks for the info

When I built my car many years ago, I just went to the local NAPA and purchased ball joints, tie rods, etc. I'm not sure where I got my manual steering box, but it was from a salvage yard.

Now, I'm running some bump steer correcting tie rods from baer. My toe in/out doesn't vary at over 8" of front end travel.

steering box

I found both manual steering boxes on ebay pretty cheap. ($35 and $30) Mine were all caked on with 30 years of oil and road dirt. But I rebuilt mine and its good as new. I have also heard of people using steering boxes from s10 pickups. Of course you would have to get the right pitman arm.

I pulled one from an 89 s-10. Had to change the steering arm and the rag joint. I think it was 30 or 35 bucks if my memory serves me correct.
