First of all excuse me for my lack of knowledge on the subject, but I figure this will be the place to ask (NPHNP!).

My rear quarter panels are rusted through behind the wheel along the bottom. Now, I have a friend who can weld a patch on there. The only thing that I need to do is rent the welder and get the steel.

So... I have a friend that works for a steel company and can get me any kind of steel for cost. The only problem is that he started asking me what kind of steel I would need. I have no idea.

Can someone tell me the kind of steel that I should use?

Um... patch panels. Like, ones from Goodmark or Dynacorn.

Your welder friend will thank you for not grabbing any ol' sheet stock that isn't formed.

Thanks a lot, I will check them out. I guess it makes sense to get a patch panel rather than trying to fabricate something.
