starter/flywheel

I have a 73 nova, just redone the wires, camshaft, timing chain, holley carb, intake, and starter. I'm down to the point of getting ready to start the car dor he break period of the camshaft. The problem i'm having is that the starter would ingaged into the flywheel but not able to start the car. I tried the mini starter and it is doing the same. i had the battery tested to see if i'm losing power but they said that it was well over its voltage. I've been stump for several weeks. open to sggestion please thanks

more INFO needed :yes: what kind of engine- v-8 , I 6, and stock or souped up , ??? is starter engaging in flywheel correctly ??? is starter turning motor over---- just not starting , or nothing???

The car does not start. The flywheel only moves 1/16 of a turn. The starter wheel(solenoid) sticks out in the flywheel. At that time I measured it with a paper clip and it's perfect. To me it seems like its not getting enough power. I checked all the switches and made sure the wiring is correct.

Sounds like battery cables, need to be replaced.

Have you put jumper cables on it and tried it?

Thanks everyone for the assistants. It was a ground. I cleaned the ground contact area to bare metal and the it started right up. Again thanks everyone was right.
