id say something above a 3000converter maybe 3800 to 4500 range how much compression. with the 4.11s and 4500 converter you should be able to run 11.50s all day long. im running a 3000 converter and 3.73s with 27" tall tires if i put my 4500 and 4.11s in i was told i would run 11.50s all day. if you can get your car to leave at 3700 shift at 6500 and trap at 6200 youll be right there

There's no such animal--everything is a compromise. Is it a daily driver? A drag only car? Plan to tow a trailer? Like we tell every other guy that asks this question each week, call a decent converter maker and give them ALL the actual specs of YOUR combo--not one similar to yours, or one you read about in a magazine, because it won't be right. And if you give bad info and the converter doesn't correctly, who are you going to blame?

With the 4.11 gear you prob don't need as much convertor as with a 3.50. I would get a B&M holeshot 3000. It worked well for me and behind my 404 it stalled at 3500 on the foot brake and would flash to just about 4500. I took it into the 10's in a 3350# car. It would prob stall just a little lower with your motor and best of all it is pretty inexpensive.

im not ganging up on you...
neither are the other guys.
but youve asked a question on the drag racing forum and should consider yourself blessed if guys like bowtie chime in with their thoughts.
they know there stuff.
if you want a generic answer id say ~3500-4K for that 350cid but would like to know compression...

good luck

Hostility. This is one of the most melo web sites around for GOOD information. If you want hostile there are several other sites you can visit where they will use every swear word imaginable.

The advice that bowtie gave you was sound and straight up.

I just got done ordering my converter and I went through the same thing. Give all pertinant info and your converter guy should hook you up.

Denny, you may have told me the other night, but who did you order your converter from? Looks like I will need a new one soon.
I went with low buck for now and I am going to try a Rednack. I have heard alot of good things about them. Yes there are better but...$$$

Did you get the install of the valvebody and trans brake done yet?
It's all done sitting on the bench ready to install, I am just waiting for the big brown truck to bring my timing set and top end gaskets for the new heads and intake. Got to degree the cam and it all goes back together. Then I will post results. This is my 1st TH400 rebuild. I hope it works.
