SS/Rally stripes on a 3rd gen

I know they're not correct but I like the look of hood/deck stripes from a Chevelle or a Camaro on a 3rd gen Nova. The problem is alot of the ones I see at shows and such don't look right. The stripes look too wide or too narrow. I did track down the dimensions from the factory manuals for both the Camaro and Chevelle, the Camaro's being wider and spaced futher apart. I prefer the way the stripes terminate on the Chevelles but which spacing would look better? Any pics and dimensions of example would be greatly apprciated. Thanks.
