When doing this perticular disk brake swap does this offset the wheels any?
I was under the impression that using the Disk spindles from donor car with the lower ball joint mod "global west kit" would offset the wheels outward 1/2 inch or something??

Im talking about the first gen nova disk swap using 70-72 Monty Carlo donor disk setup

My car is a 64 hardtop.

I know alot of guys as done this...could you chime in and help a Member out.

What im wanting to do is use Church Boys lower control arms and you have to use original spindles. I cant afford a disk kit right now. But i have a complete disk setup froma 71 Monty Carlo I would like to utilize.

thanks guys ....Cliff

The Monte/Chevelle rotor spaces the wheels out ward 1/2 each side.To use the CBR lower arms you must use a Nova 5 lug spindle. You can adapt the Monte brakes to the Nova spindle by milling/grinding approximately .500 off of the upper boss where the wheel cylinder used to bolt to.As long as you do not use drop spindles this should get you down the road.Wheel selection and tire size will be critical to avoid the tires rubbing on the front edge of your 64

Yea i was thinking that about the drop spindles, Which I think I would need. Because i have the *** end down pretty low with my truck arm rear coilover setup. Does the CCP/Church lower arms work with dropped spindles??

The CBR stuff works great with drop spindles.Your brake setup does not work with drop spindles and CPP upper arms.I am not sure about stock upper arms. With the drop spindles the caliper is so high it will hit the upper CPP arm before you can turn more than a few degrees.I went through this last year on my own car.I think I have pictures on my photobocket link,I do not have access to it at work.I think the new updated CBR billet steering arms will allow you to be low with a stock spindle and minimal bump steer.

Ok so CBR lowers work with drop spindles and disk brakes? Like CPP drop spindles/disk kit?

When you say " my brake setup doesnt work with dropped spindles and cpp upper's" Are you talking about my donor caliper brackets? I actually dont have any brakes at the moment.

Ok heres where im at with my project at the moment. Its a 64 2door hardtop that i made my own truckarm/coilover rear suspension.Plans were for a aftermarket kit for front and make the car a protouring street car. Now im broke and i would just like to get it drag strip ready just to be able to play with it. Cars been down for going on 5 years and its killing me.
Well i striped the entire front clip off of car and threw it out cause the frame rails were badly rusted! Only rust on the whole car! Anyway its gone. I did keep all the stuff off of the front clip steering, arms, core support, everything but the frame stubbs/innerfenders. I also have the Monty Carlo disk stuff.
Now im just trying to fugure out how to get a good cheap frontend back on the car. I have new motor, tranny, shifter so many parts to complete this ting except the front frame and suspension. I have a line on two original clips off of 62 cars that were strip off for a aftermarket clip of course. The clip thats like 20 miles from me has rust behind bumper bracket location and the other clip is in Georgia and its in great shape. Both of these are free just come pick up. Well if i go with original clip again i know for a fact i need to Fix the bad stuff...such as lower arm kit form CPP or CBR and a rack setup i think to. So that leaves me with brakes? Im thinking for sure i need the drop spindles so i i buy the CPP kit Spindles/rotors/calipers I think there listed for $450 on there site. SO $450 for that $500 for the Lowers thats i would say $1000 and i still need the rack setup. Rackclamp kit is $285 and the rack is what at least $200 so thats at least $1500....Crap im at a loss here!

CBR said they could make a set of lowers with the bigger lower ball joint and i could use the monty Disk spindles. But i think it will make the car sit to high in front in relation to rear. Crap...I have new rotors, calipers, and bearings to go with the monty spindles also. I guess i could sell this stuff? anybody know whats it worth...I have 70 Monty spindles with new calipers in box and inner and outer bearings. Caliper brackets are on spindles and the dust sheilds are a little bent up but i think they can be used. I forgot i gave the rotors to a friend a few years back.

It will not be cheap either way.By your brakes I mean the Monte calipers. The non metric calipers are very large(they work really well).
Yes you can use CPP,s front brake kit with the CBR and drop spindles but now it is starting to add up $$$$.You could try the CBR reversed radius rods and your stock control arms to save some money and I have seen reman Chevette racks on E-bay for under $100
