OK, I am the first one to admit that I pulled a good one here. I had to replace my speedo gear with a new one due to installing different rear gears. In my attempt to put in the new one, it has slipped into the tailshaft and I can barely feel it with the tip of my finger. I really don't want to remove the tailshaft so........who has a creative idea on how to get this little ****** out of there?

Believe me I will be extremely appreciative of whatever ideas you guys can give me....Thanks.

Speedo Gear

Try gobbing some vaseline on the the end of a pipe cleaner or something similar. Bend it to the shape that you need and touch the gear. The vaseline should stick to the gear enough to allow you to move it closer or maybe even lift it out. This has worked for me in the past. The vaseline will not hurt anything.
