I am having a problem with the plug wire on #1 . Number one cylinder wasn't firing so I did a compression test and that wasn't the problem so I checked the plug wire and it was dead . I got a new plug wire put it on and that seem to cure the problem but after a few minutes the wire was toast again . I have a ready to run distributor and a summit brand cd ignition.
No other plug wires are ever effected just the one on #1 . Anyone ever have this happen or have any idea what it might be
Thanks in advance

An arc traced/cracked distributor cap can cause these symptoms.
