Small changes make a difference

My car has been fairly consistent between 11.65 and 11.55 depending on the air. I always wanted to get the car into the 40s but wasn't sure it had it. A couple of weeks ago I took off the mufflers and ran a TNT the car ran 11.50 before someone oiled the track down and I gave up. This week I checked the front shocks and one was set to 90/10 and the other was something else. Fixed that and went to the track last night. DA was 8000 which is about average. The 60 fts went from low 1.70s and high 1.60s to high 1.50s and ran low 11.40s. I think I found that tenth I've been looking for from a couple of clicks of a shock. :D

seems like all small things can and will make a diff, congrats and good luck racing.
Thats awesome! Best part is you got to 11.40's for free! :)
Congrats! Yep, the vast majority (95%) of any changes I made at a track was shock adjustments.
wow that's a solid improvement! got any vids of her running?
you are right, I have picked up a 1 1/2 tenths after cleaning the evacuator breathers on the valve coves that were full of oil and rust and just recently picked up a tenth that I had lost when the check valve on the evacuator going into the collector had rusted shut. amazing how much crank case pressure affects the performance.

8000 feet of air and we thought 6000 was high here in Idaho.

congrats on the 40's.
I'd be anxious to see if you set that shock back to whatever it was set at and see if the car slows back down again. I don't see how changing a single shock setting will get you from high 1.6's to high 1.5's. I don't doubt you at all I just think there may have been some other factors going on along with the shock. Congrats either way. I'm going in 2 weeks to try for 40's myself.

My car doesn't really leave that hard. I made about 80 runs with the car after getting it back together and the best time I managed was 11.50 with a 1.68 60. I've had a few 60s in the 1.63 range but not that many. I think removing the mufflers helped also. I did spray 100 shot one TnT and had 60s of 1.55 to 1.58. I was really glad to see those 1.58 numbers without spray.

Good luck to you.
been spending alot of time with suspension and i just keep picking up to.
