Well toock the car to sac friday what a difference! Got some 28/9/15 drag et and switched from the 4.56 to 4.11

Before w 4.56 w street tires

2.247 60 ft

[email protected] 117.711 on the rev limiter at 7000

4.11 with slicks

1.565 60ft

11.194 @ 123.739 at around 6600 rpm.

Was grinning from ear to ear never thought I was going to pick up that much et thought that maybe I might be lucky to run a high 11 maybe 11.90. Great fun. Now it is time for the bottle and hopefully 10's.

ill bet you could get in the tens with some tune i bet there is more in it

what was your timing set at ?
what did your plugs look like ?
how much tire pressure did you run ?
what did you shift at ?
did you make any more passes if so where they slower
the bottle will help you out but it would be even better to get your car into the tens with out it then spray it and watch the board lite up with a 9 second pass  :D just my thought though. still that is cool with a gear swap your car did that how cool is that congrats man :D

Way to go! It looked good. Thats the combo i ran in my chevelle. 4.10 w/a 28/9 and works very well. Good job, and i agree with a little more tweaking you should be able to see that 10.xx mark on motor! Good luck.

THIS IS WHAT I PUT IN YOUR OTHER POST! NOW HOW CLOSE WAS I ?

if your going to stay with your 29/9 or a 28" tall tire with the bottle i would sugest nothing higher than a 4.10. i ran a 4.10 with a 28/9 and traped at 6600 rpm and 124 mph out the back on a 150 hit. if you plan on going bigger than that on the kit i would go with a 3.73 or the 3.90. if its going to live on the jug when at the track i think you would be happoer with the 3.70's.

you might have been faster with just the 4.56's and the slicks.

123 is enough mph to be a high 10 sec. pass with a car that works well.
why not? my car has done a 10.70 at 123 MPH so how are you figuring that? thats a prety bold statement i think. my car has also done a 10.60 @ 125 MPH but im sure thats not enough MPH for a .60 is it?

Relax man, he said that "IT IS" enough mph for a 10 sec pass.

hes running a 1/4 not an 1/8!
Nothing wrong with 4.56 gears in the 1/4. My 69 Chevelle had 4.57's with a 29.5X10.5 slick and ran 11.20's on motor and 10.40's on a 150 shot of N2O.

EXACTLY, I just had a personal best today. 10.965 @ 121 mph. Changing gears next week, hoping for a little more.

Congrats on the big jump! I can imagine the grin, thats pretty huge difference.

Thanks for all of the input guys. Before when I has the 4.56 on the street tires it was against the limiter at the end with the same size tire (7000) With the gear change I could really feel the motor pull good from 5000 to about 6400-6600 it seemed to fall over on its nose after that? Still trying to figure out where to shift it at. First couple of passes couldn;t figure out how to get my fancy dancy shift light to record my pass:confused:. Oddly enough first two passes were the fastest 11.22 and 11.19 then was running in the 11.40's - 11.70's with my 60 foot times dropping to a worst of 1.8. Talking to other guys running faster they said the track was bad. Did not play with anything on the car other than air pressure first two passes were at 18 psi and tryed as low as 15 and actually was the worst sixty foot. Plan on getting it dynoed some time to dial in the air/fuel and timing currently running 38 total. I also think tens on the motor may be possible. (I hope) Convertor is tight can only get maybe 2000 footbraking and seems to only flash to 2400 or so. May be the next thing to come out and get loosened up what do you think? Bottle just seems like the easy way out.:D

well first year we have the car out. 2nd time out i went 11.06 at 121 at 8000 rpm with a 5.14 gear and a 28" tire.

1/4 mile

i changed the gear to a 4.56, hopefully that will help us out. lol

There is nothing BOLD about the statement. 123 mph should be a high 10 second pass. From the numbers, it looks like your car works well in the first half of a pass, but is slightly down on power up top. 10.60 should be about 127 mph, but different combos respond differently--look at Stock Eliminator cars that run quick e.t.'s without big mph numbers--the cars work very well, but have limited horsepower.
