Hey guys
So I’m replace my floor pans right now and I removed my heater core to get behind it I am just wondering is there anything I should be doing to it while it is out of the car? I am going to wipe down and clean the outside and then vacuum the inside where the are leaves and stufff but is there some routine maintenance I should be doing?
Also not sure yet but I kind of want to paint it any thoughts on that? I wouldn’t think so but Do I need a hight temp paint?

Unless it's brand new, I would just put a new heater core in.

Replace while you have the opportunity. Get a quality core but don't paint it, not needed. If you really want to paint it use the paint spec'd for radiators.
