Does anyone have a 68 Big block car(Or third gen), short water pump, with a low mounted alternator ? Non power steering...

Talked to Alan Grove, they dont think it will fit ? Seems someone would have done this...

I have a Big Block with a electric water pump so I use the low mount alternator on the driver's side. You can see it in this picture:

It has a spacer which puts it far enough away from the crossmemeber and lines up with my pulley.

I remember seeing yours at the track. I think you have a pulley from a long water pump system on your crank ? This puts the alternator in front of the engine. The short pulley system puts the alternator beside the engine, evidently causing clearance issues with the crossmember.

Just curious if someone has come up with a mini alternator mounting, before I bite the bullet and buy an electric water pump.
