Anyone ever removed the shifter Arm off a 63 Auto .? I have switched to a floor shift and want to take the column arm off .

I have a 69 so I'm not sure but if the set up wasn't changed throughout the years I think thats the way to do it...from below up
Sometimes people do things to the pin because they tend to come out in time. Maybe that's why it's stuck.

It seems to me that you are referring to the arm on the column under the hood, is that right?

yep I bang it pretty hard from the bottom up but no luck .

Its just a pin and takes a punch from the bottom to remove it. Try soaking with a penetrating oil first and let it set for a bit. It is knurled at the top and try soaking there.

Thanks I got it out . The column was painted with the shifter on it . A good wack and it finally broke lose.
