so i put the nova on craigslist.. and got this in a email.

Hey there, I'm interested in your vehicle but I need to know how much
auto insurance is going to cost. Go to the link below, fill out the
specs on your car etc. It will give you quotes and stuff theres no
fees , i just want to see what I'm expected to be paying with this
vehicle. Soon as your done give me the quote prices, thanks.

insvehicle.co.cc

Regards,
Nancy

think its legit? jus seems weird someone would ask me to do all that. i was already just going to ignore it but wanted to see what you guys thought.

Ignore it. You don't want to sell your car to someone too stupid to pick up a phone and get a quote do ya???

How would you be able to get a quote when you don't know any of the "buyers" information anyhow. All you know is the car information, you don't have their SS number or drivers lisence number, age, driving record, or anything you need for a quote. Sounds like phishing to me, trying to get you to put your information in so they can grab it. Ignore this one.

Besides it sounding really fishy, and the .com was .co.cc (never seen that before) the letter was to grammer correct. I mean most people would say "hey how much is insurance on it?" not a whole paragraph.

sounds like a scam  probably his own web site to get your info

insurance is determined by many parameters the guy needs to get his own quote .

That is BS.

he wants the info so he(or She) can post a add for the vehicle with correct info.

And will scam someone.

Also some will post a add in other places with higher prices to make sale as broker.

yeah it's either spam or a scam.
sounds like they want you to get a quote for auto insurance and say "look at all the money i'd save on auto insurance"
or the site is theirs and they want your info.

It's a scam.

On the other hand, send him a reply "Sure thing, I can get you a quote. I'm going to need your full name, social security number, and a valid credit card to verify your identity."
