I'm sure i'm not the first to think of this. Has anyone put the two together in a first gen? How did it go? What were some of the challenges and how did you overcome it?

stock GM T5 won't live long behind a 400. You'll have to upgrade with higher alloy gear set and other parts witch are harder to find over the ford T5 that I built-up for my nova. Or use a TKO 500 or 600, or an RS T-45 5-speed from Keisler that is about the size as a T5. http://www.keislerauto.com/vmchk/gm...a-5-speed-rs-perfectfit-kit/flypage_tabs.html
Like any rail type shifter trannys, you'll have to cut and raise the back of tunnel.
the challenges would be to get the T5 to last, overcoming the challenges would be to use a TKO600 or a T56.

or a 700r4, 200r4... anything but a T5. well maybe behind a 250, 230, 194... 153 :D
