I purchased a serpentine belt system. Complete system, including A/C compressor, alternator etc...

I also have a Vintage Air A/C system and plans to install it all (obviously).

But, I would like to run the serpentine system while I wait to install the A/C system.

Can I run the system, with the Sanden compressor installed, but not wired up electrically nor connected up to A/C system?

Do I need to cap off the hose connectors to do so?

I assume the clutch will not engage as long as it's not connected up electrically.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

As long as the clutch is not engaged the Commpressor is not turning. Do keep the caps on the Commpressor to keep contaminants out of the system.

Thanks.. that was my thoughts. I was hoping I could find a bypass pulley with the proper mounting to take the place of the compressor but haven't found one yet.

I had also sent an email to Vintage Air. They responded back with yes, I can run it no problem as long as the wire is not connected.

I had the Commpressor mounted about 5 months before wiring and charging the system. I wanted to get some test miles on the car after the build.
