Wondering the benefits of Roller Rockers. I have a 383 with Hi-Flowed heads, SCAT 9000 Series 383 3.75 Stroke Crank, 750 holly double pumper and I am wondering the benefits of putting on roller rockers?

Anyone strongly for or against them?

Personally you wont feel much of any power difference, but it will take stress off the valvetrain and save your guides thus making your engine last longer.

There are many benefits. they are small but very effective.

They are many times stronger than a stock rocker arm.

they are very consistent.

They will allow a higher lift cam and use of a stronger valve spring.

They reduce heat, this is big benefit. The heat generated on a stock rocker at the ball socket area also fatigues the rocker stud. And can cause a stud failure.

the roller rocker HP gain is minuscule measurement in a stock engine.
The benefit is in durability.

In a high RPM or cam change application they are a must to prevent engine failure. And HP gains can be measured in these applications.

Stock rocker arms are the weak link in a Chevrolet engine.
Even in stock engine the rocker arms are the weak link. Other than a plastic timing gear!

Dollar for dollar Harland Sharp or the best bang for the buck. They have a lifetime warranty, MADE IN AMERICA! And Rocker Arms are this company's business Period!

Big Al hit the nail on the head!

Buy American!

The job you save may be your own.;)

Roller rockers are not one of the bigger-bang HP per dollar items out there (as far as the kind of HP increase you're gonna feel in the seat of your pants) but they do have a lot of benefits in precision, longevity and wear to other components.
