What is the recommended ring and pinion manufacture for the GM 8.2 10 bolt? Strictly for cruising, mild small block, 350HP.

Thanks!!

I'm not sure if it is the recommended gear, but I put Motive gears in when I rebuilt mine about 2 years ago, and I am happy with them. I am throwing about the same power at them. I kept the stock ratio 3.36.

3.36 is exactly what I'm considering going with, any clue where these are manufactured?

The 3:36 gear was listed in the AMA document for the 1965 Nova SS with a 4-speed tranny. I ended up buying the following.

JEGS - Richmond Gear 836-49-0013-1 R&P 3:36
JEGS - 836-83-0022m Installation kit.
Summit - Eaton 19603-010 Posi-traction.

I haven't installed the differential yet, as my car is still in the body shop but these parts are name brand and I have confidence they will be ok. I did have a mechanic with a great reputation build the differential as I just did not think I had the capability.

for a cruiser 3.08-3.36 is a good range so you should be very happy with your choice. You may also want to get new axle bearings and seals as the kits do not come with them. Bearing number 5707, seal number 8660s.

Why don't you give Miles a PM and see what he can do for you. He has never given me bad info. He's the man.
