Is there a proper way to remove the trim? A special tool? I have a donor door for my car and the door has the two sections of aluminum trim along the top rail. I can't see doing this with a flat blade screwdriver without fouling it up. help! thanks!

I dont know if there is a Tool but,I use a Bottle Opener.

Eee eastwood to get a look at what a trim removal tool looks like. You can also pick one up at your local auto parts (Kragen, Advance Auto, All Parts...)

There is a tool for the job ,but once you see how the clips work it can be done with 2 fine tipped screw drivers fairly easily without damaging the trim.I'm referring to windshield front and rear not side glass though.The side 1/4 windows can be done by undoing 3 small philips screws in the track and the vertical peice pops off with gentle pull of the fingers and the trim on the door frame is a PITA it is a slow difficult job and like Joe says the can opener helps.Hope that helps.
