There is a vent that broke off on the differental,its' a 8.2 10 bolt anyone know where to buy or can you make one. I was thinking that maybe I could bend up a piece of stainless like a u-bend upright. the purpose is for when the rear heats up it allows the temp to excape or am I incorrect? Someone must know please let me know because no parts store has them and they look at you like you have two heads.

if there's a piece of it still inside the diff housing, ya "might" try an easyout... maybe ???

the replacement part is available... seen it before in Classic Industries catalog ya might check the Web-Link Library in the qriginality forum... you'll find Classic's link listed there.

Rear axle vent

Classic Industries lists 2 different axle vents in their latest catalog { page 362 }, and are as follows :

# G6027 { 1962-71 rear axle vent } for 6.5 ,7.5 ,or 8 7/8 ring gear installs in a 3/8 DIA, HOLE $2.95 EA.

# G6028 { 1972-79 rear axle vent } for 8.5 ring gear installs in a 7/16 dia. hole $3.59 ea.
