I bought a AM radio at a flea market a couple days ago. How do I find out what year it was made and what it came out of. I know it's out of a Pontiac it has that across the front.
On the front is says: SUPER DELUXE on the metal housing
The freq dial goes from 5.5 to 16 with a Civil Defence between 5.5 and 7
Under the glass it has the Pontiac logo and Delco in cursive script
It has a sticker on it
Model 983873
Ser 4784-KL

Thanks; I found my radio; it's a 1963 full size car radio. I also added that site to my favorites.

from the number you have above it looks like it came out of a 63 pontiac. if you could provide the Service Reference No., i probably verify that, that number should be on the same tag as where you got the other numbers. probably at the top of the tag. if you like the radio, you could have an am/fm conversion done that would work great and you would have a radio that will out last the car with very high audio quality. thanks!
