on an HEI distibutor,,what size is the drive gear,? .491 or .500 ?????

well its an after market HEI with an MSD cap. not a stock distributor, so im gonna assume its .500

I wouldn't assume that. As far as I know, only MSD uses the .500" gear. Every other one I've ever seen is .491".

Of course if you really wanted to be sure you could always measure the shaft.

Definately don't assume anything. My stock points style distributor is .500 when everything i read says it should be .491 as well.

ok,,well i wasnt seriously going to assume that lol. u always gotta be corect, my freind has a dial caliper, ill prolly use that and see what it is
