Question about 6-Cylinder RPM

1085 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  JakeKilgore
I just installed a new SunPro tach on my car today, and thought it was weird that my shift points (even at WOT and downshifting) max out at 3k RPM.

Is this normal for Stovebolt 6's? I have the stock 194ci hooked up with a 700R4.

Make sure the tach is set right for a 6-cylinder. It probably has a switch either outside or on the inside of the case.
Good idea! I think I saw a switch on the back. Thank you.
Edit: That worked. Thanks for helping a newbie.
So what's it shift at now?
About 4,700 when I stomp it.
