I have a 74 nova and I want to put bucket seats in it and put a 4 point harness for more safety. I dont not have the car caged and I dont have a bar behind the seats to put the shoulder straps, and I would liek to keep the back seats in uses. I know you dont mount them to the ground that is why im looking for any advise to a way or anything to help. Thanks everyone

pretty sure you'd need a bar of some kind behind the seat. other wise…3 point or lap belt.

Go with factory 3-points.

4-points will be a lot of work and not DOT legal anyway.

YES, you will be pulled over for it.

The 4 point harness is not Dot legal? I would assume it would be safer than the lap belt. I have a few ideas on making something work for it

Non-factory mounting points are not legal.
