I've got a '70 Buick Quadrajet (7040244) on my 350 small block, missing the choke thermostat and a spring.

I think this is the right kit for the thermostat, cover, and rod:

My carb (right) is still missing the spring on the pull-off/vacuum brake (circled in blue). What's the part name for that?

I don't think the kit you linked to will work. This kit is made for your manifold, Edelbrock Divorced Choke Kits 1931 . As far as the spring goes , it doesn't look like it's replacable, you might have to buy a new pull off. Or maybe you can find one on another pull off in a junkyard, and unwind the spring off of it and wind it onto yours?

Yikes! That thermostat costs more than the carb is worth. I'll have to either find a junkyard part, an electric choke conversion kit, or buy a new carb.

I checked and none of the Q jets I have on the shelf have that spring. Maybe it was only used on certain applications?

I probably have a choke stove in my Q-jet parts. I'll look tomorrow.
I also looked at all my divorced choke Q-jets and one of them had the spring.
