With my 77’s Quad jet Carburetor, when I hit the throttle little hard, the car stalls out. If I baby the throttle, it fine. I know very little about carburetors.

Any suggestions?

Should I rebuilt it or just buy a remanufactured carburetor?

If I have to buy a rebuilt carb, I am thinking about buying a Edelbrock Carb.

Thanks

Usually , the "Quadra-bog" symptom is because the Secondary air valve is opening too fast because the air door spring is broken or the door is mis-adjusted. There's a set screw on the bottom to lock it down once the proper tension is set. Good luck finding a new spring. Let me know if you find a PN and source. There's also the secondary air valve diaphragm that may be part of the problem.

Update: Here's source for the spring and adjustment allen wrench.

Under hard acceleration the pump itself could be bad, not keeping a proper seal and not giving a complete fuel discharge.
Most common, the carb must maintain proper fuel level for the accelerator pump to work correctly.
If fuel level is low in carb the pump will push air then fuel.
The accelerator pump is inside the fuel cavity of the carb.

Some other symptoms from a bad needle valve, low fuel pressure, improper float adjustment or bad float. All effecting the complete performance of the carb.

Just something to check.
