The push rod on the new vacuum booster I received for a disc brake conversion is a threaded rod rather than the banjo rod end on the original vacuum booster. How hard is it to swap push rods or should I cut an thread both rods and use a rod coupling to connect the two together?

See if you can use a hardware store clevis. That's what they used on 50s cars.

Drilled hole in the brake pedal arm, and a pin through it and the clevis.
