- 1 = GM division; Chevrolet

- 7 = model year; 1967
- W = assembly plant; Willow Run, MI
- 201066 = VIN sequence number
R = carburetor source; Rochester

Line 2:
V1029PN = engine code (see below):
- V = engine assembly plant, Flint, MI
- 1029 = engine assembly date; October 29th <=== Check that date code
- PN = application code; 283cid 2V w/Powerglide
BA0626W = rear axle code (see below):
- BA = ratio; 3.08 open 10-bolt
- 0626 = assembly date; June 26th
- W = assembly plant; Warren, MI
T = build month; June (1967)

Line 3:
C7H21 = Trans code (see below):
- C = Plant/trans; Cleveland / Powerglide
- 7 = mode year; 1967
- H = assembly month; June
- 21 = assembly day; 21st
3 = option code; these codes are position dependent. Under what digit in line 2 does this code appear?

I find it strange that the engine was built in October (1966) when the rear, trans and car weren't built until June 1967. Make sure the code is really 1029.

Option code 3 is directly under the 0 after the ba.
The v1029pn is correct on the pop but the number on the engine block is vi029pn. Thanks

Then the 3 is for the RPO-U63 push button AM radio

The "I" on the block is meant to be a 1. I've seen that dones many times. So the 2 codes match V1029PN. I wonder if the original engine was replaced and a new Protect-O-Plate was stamped. Is there a VIN stamped on the engine block.

Will look when i get back out to the shop. The pop is in the original warranty booklet and is authentic to the car. Thanks
