The car was originally a whitish color. The previous owner painted it maroon. The maroon paint wan several thick coats. I used spray on paint stripper from Lowes and that gets most of the paint off easily. To clean it up and get the rest of the paint off I used my Harbor Freight electric DA sander. To clean the jambs and other tight areas I used my Harbor Freight drill with a wire wheel. It has been alot of work but saved me $1000 over blasting it. I am on a tight budget so I wanted to save money where I can. I splurged on new fenders, TCI front clip, and the motor. This is my first project car and I will hopefully have it painted this summer.
