Pro street???

Ok, I'm not really sure where to put this topic but here it goes. I have been building my 75 nova as a strong street car fro a while while I decide exactly what direction to with it. I'm thinking about pro street after seeing other cars like this, but what exactly goes into a car to say it is pro street?

I have ideas but I'm not exactly 100% on what it is.

To me pro street is a drag car with just enuff to be street legal.
Tubbed, dot slicks, minimal interior, caged, and FAST!

That's what I was thinking. Barely street legal race car. Just trying to get other peoples opinions.

Pro Street was defined as a Car that looked like it was a Pro Stock someone was driving on Street, Hood Scoop or induction coming out of hood, Tires wider than 10 inches under the fenders, Roll Cage, wheelie bars and yes most of the time Killer Engines, But today it is more one driving, I have a Pro Street and it has everything cept the killer motor, It used to have one but no fun not being able to drive far, Today it is the art of Illusion, Making people think it is more than what it appears to be, So if you decide, Remember build being able to drive it, First thing is rear tires When I build mine in 1989 there was only Bias Ply Tires and they were not very good when wet So make sure you check out the new Radials, Also a killer engine in a 75 depends on your state but emissions become an issue, I have dual cats on mine, So just remember when you do decide to do whatever make sure to make a plan and stick to it

Ya, emissions isn't to big a problem to get past and the car doesn't go ver far so I would build a nice engine with the small supercharger I have. Still drivable but also pretty powerful. I'm not to worried about weather because the cat doesn't even come out of the garage now with any threat of sprinkles. But thanks for the definition because this really guides what I need to do.

That's awesome. Keeping all the original parts was a great idea not that it can go back to original easily, but just a great extra.

My 64SS is Prostreet with a 8point roll bar and a Back seat fits two 6' guys in the back. The car also still sits on the stock 64 springs.

Used to be my daily driver till I added in the 5:13s it now has in it. But have been rethinking to change it back to a more streetable gearing,And less track time. But something that the New 690 lift cam will be happy with. ;)

At some car shows they put my car in pro street. They based it on the roll bar, mini tubs, no back seat and some other minor stuff by different judges.
