What's the preferred coolant?
I have an LS, I typically would like to stay with GM's Dexcool but there seems to be a lot of negative reviews, I also thought about Evans since it is a new engine but people either love it or hate it.

I’ve see dexcool do nasty things. I run the good old green ethylene glycol in my daily commuters. Run water with water wetter additive in my nova.

Regular green Prestone and distilled water,50/50 mix.
This is exactly what I do.
Be sure to use distilled water with your antifreeze. Do not use tap water.

My first car was a ‘69 Nova SS with 350, 4 speed and posi in Vegas.
I drag raced it there to a best of 13:25 at 109.
At some point I weaned her from 50% water to 100% coolant.
I had to give her up when drafted ? but never had cooling issues even there and even summer drag racing.
Then later I got a ‘69 Chevy stepside in ‘75 with various V8s in it, the performance 350 has been in her since about ‘80. Still have her with 100% coolant which she had in Vegas and in the Pacific NW since ‘95.
My ‘68 Chevy II Nova SS 350 I’ve had since ‘86 with 100% coolant. No troubles.
