So, I'm looking to rid my 74 l6 of all its smog crap. A buddy told me when we were looking at the car that my fast-idle solenoid may not be functioning properly. I plan to remove the air pump and all it's plumbing, but I'm just trying to figure out what I need. He suggested I look into finding an earlier carb that is pre-smog, in order to simplify the setup.

I would like to do an intake manifold and 4 barrel setup, but that's out of my price range at the moment. Any other suggestions? I'm kinda new to the carb world, unfortunately.
