a friend has a 62 impala wagon that has a p steering problem.It has power steering going right, but none going back left.The steering is the same design as a early Nova,so i thought someone here might have had the same problem.Thanks

Just a guess, but it's probably bypassing due to internal seals(guessing). Anyways put a can of Lucas power steering seal swell additive in it and run it. It's worth a try and the Lucas stuff is a great product.

if it is in fact the same EXACT component (yeah, they do look the same) then yu can possibly still get an over the counter Auto Part store repair kit from Omega or Edelman (whoever) if not, Chevy2Only has a control valve repair kit...

Ps

Has he tried the left / right adjusting nut located under the dust cap on the control valve? The ram should be the last thing hooked up when installing PS...
