I have a 63 with factory style power steering. The power steering control valve has apparently gone south and needs to be replaced. I have a new control valve and want to find out if there are any tricks before I take anything apart.

It looks like the exchange should be pretty straight forward, but are there any secrets to change out this control valve that make it harder or easier? Would like to do this with as little drama as possible.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys, the video makes it look relatively easy. I'll let you know. Seems like when I do anything to this car it seems to open Pandora's Box.

So far the Winter gear ratio change for rear end has turned into

Rear Gears
All differential bearings
Rear Shocks
Rear brake drums
Rear brake shoes
Front Shocks
Valve adjust
Valve cover gaskets
Adjust timing
Adjust Carb
and now
PS control valve replacement

I'm afraid to look at anything else.

Aren't older cars fun?
