I took my 73 out for a short ride and mid way I heard a hissing sound and I lost the power in my power brakes.. I went right home and saw that the vacuum connection at the power booster was sucking air through the hole in the connections side. Did something fall out or did something fail?? Help!! Thanks, Mark

booster..

check the plastic L fitting and see if it cracked or dry rotted...sometimes the fitting will get cocked sideways and leak vaccum...sometime the hose pulls it loose...should be a simple fix...wilma

It is sucking air right from the hole in the center of the connection Not sure if there was a cover there and dont know how it would fall out with the suction created when the car is running. I guess it the check valve. What would have caused it to fail it is a new booster and all parts are new
