Took my son's 71 nova out for a test drive and noticed a popping noise when turning right, ball joints? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Maybe bottom ball joint(usually the one that will break off) usually or maybe spring not seated correctly in control arm pocket. Should be able to hold your hand on the affected part or area and feel it perhaps while car is not moving. Check it up on stands if it will do it without a load on the suspension.

The guy I bought it from last year replaced a bunch of frontend parts including ball joints but thought maybe he installed a defective one. I will check this when i get home from work. Went for a test drive last night and noticed the popping when turning left and the car even seemed hard to turn left at times. Hope it's and easy fix cause my son is ready for his car. Thanks for the advice.

Did he grease the newly installed parts?
That could be the reason as well and seen it before.

A young guy at work didn't even know he was supposed to grease his front end. He just had the ball joints changed(non serviceable-new control arm).

On a side note - most new cars you can't even grease them.
