Plug Reading

Thanks do you think 035 is the right gap I think I read the you could run a bigger gap with that distributor but I think I have read on here are at yhat setting.
Leave the gap at .035---all you're doing by increasing to .040 is working the coil harder.
The plugs i run in my 383 are Ac Delco & the gap for that plug is recomended .060---for the original engine application. For my use i dropped to .045 & it loves it. My plugs are FR3LS-6---flat seat, long reach, angle plug heads.

It’s tough to really tell from that picture but the insulators look dark to me - rich or oil fouling based on the tan ground straps I’ll guess you’re running rich. The idle air screws will help your mixture at idle but if you’re rich on the throttle you need to change jets.
