This is probably a dumb question...but I'm having problems with my original Delco-Remy voltage regulator.I have recently taken out the original straight 6 and put in a late 5.7 350 in my 63SS and I was unsure if I can loose it..or replace it with a better simplified aftermarket version?

Thanks.

You can remove the ext regulator if you upgrade to a newer internal regulated alternator. Some good reading here http://www.madelectrical.com/electrical-tech.shtml.
