This picture is my '69 with my old 1 bbl (stock) carb and shows the P/G kick-down-rod on the intake manifold




Then, I went "Offy intake - Holley 390 carb" ...... and never hooked up that linkage again. My reason was -- I was changing over to a stick - shift tranny. For the time (with the p/g trans), I just had too manual shift from
'low to drive'. And, my car would do the same thing ----- be in low gear ----- and shift into drive .... in about 10 - 15 feet (and NO passing gear shift).

But, this IS A 3rd Gen car ........ maybe some one with a 63 will jump in
