This is actually for my golf cart project that I am working on. I need to paint several pieces of aluminum black so that everything matches. I have taken some light sandpaper and went over the pieces to rough them up a little. I was thinking that I need some kind of primer under the paint to help adhesion. Is there any kind of paint that would be better for this? Any recomendations for doing this??
Thanks

Read the tech sheets for the primer and paints.
When we paint aluminum, PPG recommends priming it within 8 hrs of sanding it so it does not start to oxidize again.
The prep, priming and painting is the same as steel except the 8 hr window.

I used Marhyde etching primer on my aluminum engine parts and it has stuck really well. I needed to scrape some of the paint in an area or two and a razor blade would hardly scratch it!
