I am narrowing my A/C problems down to the Fan switch or fuse panel(Heater fuse). Both are getting extremely hot on medium and high. Vintage Air Tech said it sounded like the switch was bad.I changed the fan switch, but it is getting hot also.I can't tell the difference in speeds when on high and medium.Any suggestions?

Fan switches have an amp rating, just as does the actual fan motor.

Could a relay help?

That's a good question.I did install a relay for the A/C Compressor.I am going to ask Vintage Air Tech tomorrow. You would think that the modern fans would be more effient, but that might not be the case.
