i had an Optima battery in my 66 the first 3 years but the date sticker said it was 13 years old. it still started the engine good be i just felt it was time to change. now have an interstate an i always leave a trickle charger connected. picture is the hold down strap. on the right the bolt has a hook an is in a hole on the radiator flange. the left side bracket is bolted into a nut in the sheet metal. an the radiator did get a new coat of paint that year along with the heater hose bracket. an i don't know were the top heavy rubber strap was bought.
