@Custom Jim I did read in a 2014 topic that you did already back than 30 years car audio and also found the video about installing the rear speakers with your custom spacers!
Do you have a recommendation for 6x9 speakers? Will have a retrosound headunit, an amp. Would like to avoid a subwoofer but anyhow some good bass.
Thank you!

any other audiophiles can share their setup and recommendation as well please

I did a 55 recently with a Retrosound radio, a 4 channel Kenwood Amplifier, a set of Kenwood 6x9's and 2 sets of Kenwood 4".
I made up an adaptor for the underside of this guys deck as he has aluminum cover panels on things and had to relocate where the other 6x9's were at as they were more closer and the adaptors. These adaptors got glued to the underside of the deck as we had some reinforcing ribs that the adaptor had to have grooves cut into it but doing the most we could to seal the sound from the backside of the speaker compared to the sound from the frontside of the speaker we got the best bass we could get.

That is the secret to mounting speakers on a baffle is to stop any sound eminating from the backside of the speaker from short circuiting and interfering with the sound eminating from the front side.

I set the 55 up with RCA's for a possible future sub but the customer seems happy with things right now.

We may at some point try an additional amp and sub but time will tell and like he said, he doesn't really like loud bass but we do have a decent amount so far.

This customer with the 55 also has put in a fair amount of sound deadener too which helps.

This car is looking KILLER! I'm usually not big on black wheels but I really dig the momo's on the car. I think it goes well with the chrome trim here and there along with the black accents on the car. I think you're doing a great thing for this car. Very nice resto-mod style build.

My brother and his son are professional mechanics and my brother and I did years ago a lot of rebuilds - back than manly on Japanese or German cars because friends crashed it and needed repair.

I did rent a box in a shop, where I will do all the modifications and there I'll have access also to all tools I do not have.

Only the powdercoating and paint job I will have done by some professional staff.

As I'm still looking for the most fitting Nova I'll bore you with some theoretically plans and things I have on my todo list.
Always fun to dream. Go For It !
