I recently changed the oil in the nova. I believe it's only been about 3 weeks, yet it's already dirty. It's not quite black, but at this rate, in another couple weeks it'll be time to change it again. To me, this sounds wrong. I don't think that it should be this dirty already, though I don't know how many miles it's been, but like I said I don't think it should be time yet.

I assume there could be a whole lot of reasons for this, but I'm just trying to figure out what's a goin' on.

yep carb needs some tuning. Are you running an air cleaner?
I'm running a cleaner and I got it the same time I did the oil change. I had already assumed about the carb, considering I get a little white smoke on start. I was also wondering about the oil filter I used. I grabbed a K&N one, first time using it so I was a bit skeptical.

can anyone walk me through tuning the carb? it's an edelbrock 600 electric choke. is it just finding the right spot for the idle screws?
