whats the deal on this plastic sleeve between the shaft and pump? the sleeve on my pump i took off seems nice and tight on the shaft of the oil pump.my new pump the plastic sleeve seems to have a little wiggle side to side,is this going to be a problem,had the pump on and the pan bolted back on but something told me to take it apart again and make sure...thank cranker

get the ARP or melling steel shaft and pined steel sleeve.... less than 10 bucks and for get it..

If you have the front sump pump, the regular shaft won't work. Chevy II's have a shorter shaft. There is no aftermarket shaft.

The Melling part Number for steel sleeve guide oil pump shaft. IS-55E

No need to purchase other brands, besides it's most likely made by Melling anyway.

If you have a front sump pan, the part I listed will NOT work!

crap already picked one up! no worries i'll take it back and tell the supplier something he didn't know...thanks for the follow up guys
