i'm rebuilding a 71 nova, have rebuilt the brakes, discs and drums, new booster, master cylinder, etc. I am trying to bleed the system and can only get air from the rear passenger valve. Is there something I'm missing? I get fluid from the discs but not the drums.

Have you replaced the rubber hose on the rear from the frame to the rear end? When old they can clog. They can look good outside, but go bad inside.

Are you gravity, pressure or vacuum bleeding the brakes? Gravity bleeding may not work well on the rears.

I put new lines, hoses, cylinders, booster, master cylinder and calipers on my car and could not get the brakes to bleed. I tried gravity, pump and hold, and vacuum with no luck. Then i purchased a pump system from Summit and it took about ten minutes to bleed out the brakes. Just the time alone spent trying to bleed the brakes would have payed for the pump system if i would have bought it first. I think it was about $60.
